Puerto Marina sits at the eastern edge of Benalmádena Costa, on the stretch of coast between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. It is the marina itself and the homes built around and within it: a working harbour of berths, quayside restaurants, the Sea Life aquarium and a small run of shops, wrapped by terraces of apartments. The defining feature is the cluster of low white blocks that rise straight out of the water, linked by footbridges, that locals simply call the islands. They were built in the mid-1990s and you will not find anything else quite like them on the Costa del Sol.
Penthouses lead here, the type buyers ask for most, usually with a wide terrace angled at the masts and the open sea beyond. Below them sit one, two and three-bedroom apartments, many of them on or over the water in the island blocks and along the quays, with duplex penthouses crowning the taller buildings. The architecture is a deliberate blend of Andalusian white with Arabic and Indian touches, kept low so the harbour stays the focus. Homes facing the marina trade a little evening quiet for the view and the life of the quays; those set back toward the Las Islas and Dos Mares side are calmer.
Puerto Marina suits people who want the harbour on their doorstep rather than a quiet residential street. That means lock-up-and-leave second-home owners who like walking out to dinner and a boat trip, year-round residents who value the buzz and the short walk to everything, and buyers with one eye on holiday letting, since the marina draws visitors through the warmer months. If you want silence and a garden, this is not the pocket for you, and we will say so. If you want to step off your terrace into the life of the port, few places match it.
As a guide that holds across the cycle rather than a snapshot, smaller studios and one-bedroom apartments here generally start in the mid-hundreds of thousands. Two and three-bedroom apartments with a marina aspect typically run from the high six figures, and the larger duplex penthouses with the best water views reach into the one-to-two-million band. Aspect, floor and how directly the home faces the harbour move the number as much as size does, and we will always tell you when an asking price is ahead of what the position justifies.
Málaga airport is about twenty minutes up the A-7. The nearest railway is the Arroyo de la Miel–Benalmádena station on the Cercanías C1 line, a fifteen-to-twenty-minute walk or a short taxi from the quays, with trains roughly every twenty minutes and Málaga city around half an hour away. Beaches sit either side: the dark sand below Bil-Bil castle and the town beaches toward Arroyo de la Miel are a few minutes on foot. Torrequebrada golf and the Benalmádena International College are a short drive west, and buses link the marina to the pueblo in the hills above.
